The Maltese Language School of NSW which is administered by the Maltese Community Council of NSW reached the end of the 2009 scholastic year on Saturday 12 December 2009 with the last lesson held at Horsley Park.  The students presented a Christmas display where together with parents and friends who were also invited to attend, sang Christmas carols in Maltese.  The students, young and older, took turns to share some readings about Maltese customs and stories relating to Christmas. The children each described (in Maltese) the crib they built and how they built it.  All students were presented with a Certificate of attendance and calendars of Malta were awarded to adult students who attended the whole year.  Some drinks and traditional Maltese Christmas food was offered, followed by the drawing of a raffle.  A presentation also took place was on Wednesday, 2nd December at Schofields campus in Terra Sancta College.  This class performed a small role play in Maltese and recited some of the poems and limericks they learnt during the year. This was to the delight of parents and friends who were also present.  The teachers and students alike are to be congratulated for the efforts afforded this year to the success of this class in 2009.
